I have been on my natural hair journey for just over 12 years. I'd say my hair is 4c but honestly I think it has chosen its own undisclosed category and finding the right products for the strands of hair on my particular head has been near impossible! It has been such a struggle and a financial drainer that I finally gave up and cut off 11 years of growth last year just to give myself a break, regroup and start again. I stumbled upon Nylah in my Google research trying to find 'clean' hair products that actually work, now that my hair was growing again. I'd seen the brand before but didn't realise it was black female owned and had this incredible vision and mission. After hours reading through the site (which was super easy to navigate and wildly informative - a lot of information, but presented in a 'digestable' way for a novice like myself to consume and not feel overwhelmed), I was convinced and ordered the essential haircare bundle fully persuaded that this was it, I had finally found the products that would work for me. And boy was I right! First off, packaging - I love simple, easy to use, attractive packaging and Nylah is giving all that and more (yy shower and beauty cabinet thank you), secondly, a straight forward, step by step, easy to follow routine and products - thank you! I didn't have to trail for hours trying to find what I needed, how to use it, when, how often - its all done for me. From the first shampoo - yes the shampoo! - I could tell this was very different. On to the conditioner, the leave in and the hair oil - and it just kept getting better. The fragrance is not overpowering or too sweet, for my sinuses, it's perfectly balanced. My hair had never looked or felt so plump and nourished. I didn't pre-poo, I didn't deep condition and yet my hair felt so soft, hydrated, healthy, strong and moisturised, my hair needed little to no detangling - all after just one wash day - and it stayed that way until my next wash . If I'd had this 12 years ago, think of the money and the stress I would have saved myself :) BUT I am very glad to be able to begin this new journey with such amazing products that actually work. I've been using the products for 2 months now and my hair has never felt better. To the team at Nylah, thank you so much for creating and sharing products that really work for someone like me. Thank you for the very thoughtful, conscious and deeply caring approach you appear to be taking with this - focused on deep wellbeing and the planet. There are very few places for a black woman like myself to go and feel actually seen and cared for. You do that beautifully with what you have created here. When I go through the website, when I receive emails, when I use the products - I feel like someone has actually thought about me - not just a number but an actual human- what I may need, what may be beneficial to me and what will actually help me have good, healthy hair that works for me. Hair may appear a trivial thing but to many of us, it matters deeply. Clearly it matters to you deeply too so thank you for helping me heal and own mine.
Great product, I have noticed regrowth. I think it also helps that I am reducing stress in my life and embracing a healthier lifestyle but I do believe that this product has helped. I highly recommend!
Many years ago I wrote an article for my union as I was Equality, Diversity and Inclusion rep, on black peoples hair and how it was being politicalised.
During my research I discovered what toxic chemicals are present in some products for black hair use. These included carcinogens- cancer forming. I thought as a black scientist, my grandchildren deserved better, the best in life, including hair products. I made enquiries and came across, Nyelasnaturals hair products. I’ve been a loyal customer for years now. The products are amazing, and the results are truly out of this world.
Both items have a lovely smell unlike other products I have bought in the past where the smell is very unpleasant and leaves a stickiness in my hair., which makes me not want to use them ever again. These two products from Nylahs are the opposite and I will continue to use them to achieve my goal to have growing hair. At he moment I cannot say if my hair is growing, because I am taking medication, but my hair feels a lot thicker.
my daughter is mixed race her hair gets very dry more on the afro side this is the only leave in conditioner that hydrates her hair i’ve tried many!
my son is mixed also same parents but his hair has taken more of the white gene, it’s both curley and straight in different places also very dry scalp and suffers with dry skin sensitive skin, again products are great! we use the shampoo and conditioner in both hair , the leave in conditioner and oil after on wash day for my daughter and i love the hair mist for my son as it’s great for his scalp then i use a little oil to tame his big curls i find the conditioner is a little thick for his hair

Since starting to use the products I love the way the shampoo lathers the hair, it makes me feel good that my hair feels clean. The conditioner makes my hair feel so soft, I love the products so far. I don’t like when I feel that my hair feels sticky or clammy.

Since using Nylah Flourish about 1 month now I have seen slight growth around my edges. I tried so many different products from other companies but nothing worked. The only product which has made a real difference is Nylah Flourish Growth. It’s so amazing, light and brilliant. I’ve still got a long way to go but this is a start. I have been suffering from psoriasis for about the last five years, which also affects my scalp. Although the texture of my hair itself was still reasonably ok, I lost much of it in large patches due to the damage to my scalp. Nothing outside of prescribed strong steroid medication was helping, and that was only ‘helping’, not ‘curing’.
I decided to give the Flourish serum a try after reading a review from a customer who was experiencing similar serious scalp inflammation issues, and they couldn’t praise the serum enough!
Within a few days of using the serum the incessant itching (if you know, you know!) started to ease and the inflammation lessen. The serum is working - dare I say ‘curing’ rather than just ‘helping’. My only issue is that using it daily means one bottle only lasts about two weeks, which is unfortunately way outside of my budget, so I have to use it more sparingly than I would prefer. After 60 days, however, my scalp is in much better condition and the affected patches appear to be gradually getting smaller. I use the serum every couple of days, focusing on areas which need the most attention and, although I still experience some mild itching, my symptoms aren’t nearly as severe as they used to be, so I’m going to persevere. It’s such a relief to find a natural alternative to the harsh steroids, and it smells great, too!
When you’ve been looking at the same damage for so long you start to think that things will never change. I’m now starting to finally see a way back to a healthy scalp and all that comes with it.
