Product Description
Expert Guidance Tailored To Your Hair and Scalp Concerns
Nutrition, lifestyle and metabolic health can all influence the strength of your hair follicles and the quality of your hair growth.
Jasmine Carbon, a UK-registered dietitian specialising in Afro-Caribbean nutrition, will help you explore how these factors may be affecting your hair and overall wellbeing.
Why Nutrition Matters for Your Health
Research shows that people from Black African and Afro-Caribbean communities face higher risks of certain health conditions that may impact long-term wellbeing:
- Type 2 diabetes can develop earlier, often around age 25 compared with around 40 in white populations.
- Higher risk of high blood pressure (hypertension) compared to the wider population.
- Higher rates of overweight and obesity, which can impact overall metabolic health.
What to Expect from Your Consultation
Our 1:1 Dietitian Consultation gives you the opportunity to work with a UK-registered dietitian specialising in Afro-Caribbean nutrition. Together, we’ll review your diet and lifestyle to identify potential nutritional factors that may be affecting your hair and overall wellbeing.
You’ll receive personalised guidance and practical recommendations designed to support healthier hair growth from within.

saw visible baby hairs with consistent use.
noticed new hair growth in thinning areas.
You’ll receive a personalised 1:1 session with either a qualified trichologist or dietitian, depending on your booking. They’ll review your hair or scalp concerns, discuss lifestyle and health factors, and offer clear, actionable guidance. The goal is to understand the root cause and suggest practical next steps whether that’s hair care, lifestyle changes, or a referral for further support.
During your session, you’ll receive key insights from your consultation, recommended Nylah’s haircare products or supplements, lifestyle or nutrition advice, and, if needed, referral suggestions (e.g. blood tests, trichologist follow-up). A detailed treatment plan is not included but can be requested at the end of your consultation for an additional fee.
Book with the trichologist (Kim) if you’re experiencing hair loss, thinning, scalp irritation, or breakage and want a diagnostic, science-based approach. Book with the dietitian (Jasmine) if you suspect your diet, hormones, or health conditions may be impacting your hair or scalp, or if you're interested in nutrition-led health or hair growth support.
You’ll complete a short intake form during booking, which helps your consultant prepare in advance. They may follow up with you before your appointment for additional information. Please come prepared to discuss your concerns, share any progress photos, and provide details about any medications or supplements you’re currently taking or have been prescribed, as well as any relevant family history.
No. This is a specialist consultation for advice and guidance. While our professionals are highly qualified, they do not prescribe medication. If medical intervention is needed, they may refer you to your GP or a dermatologist. In some cases, the consultant may recommend a face-to-face follow-up for further assessment, such as scalp microscopy or physical examination. If this is advised, you'll be able to book further treatment directly with the consultant
